Below are the various training programs available for the Huntersville Half Marathon Weekend.
These programs will be coached by RRCA Certified Running Coach Andrea Dell.
They will begin in September and October and will follow state and county guidelines.
They will be open to all runners: those that feel comfortable joining others for a group run or those that prefer to run on their own.
Each training program will be run walk interval friendly.
These groups will still be a great way to meet other runners, gain accountability and cheer each other on even if we train separately. The training groups will operate on a virtual platform with opportunities to meet for events and group runs.
Holiday 5K Training Group
Whether this is your first 5K or you are a seasoned 5K participant this program can work for you. Let us guide you to your first 5K finish or a new personal best.
This is an 8 week training program and will begin on Monday, October 21, 2020.
The cost will be $100.00 if bundled with race registration.
Huntersville Hustle 10K Training Group
Ready to try a new distance after mastering your 5K? Join our 10K program to learn how to increase your distance,
confidence and endurance. This is a 10 week program and will begin on October 5, 2020.
The cost will be $125 if bundled with race registration.
Huntersville Half Training Group
The Half Marathon Training Group is open to first time half marathoners and seasoned veterans.
The Huntersville Half Marathon is perfect for first time half marathoners because you can train on the race course.
This program is also suitable for half marathon veterans.
This will be a 12 week training program and will begin Monday, September 21,2020.
The cost will be $150 if bundled with race registration.
Training Programs Include:
Distance specific Facebook groups – interact, share your run, cheer on others, check out details on upcoming workouts and runs, and stay connected with the members of your training group.
Specialized clinics (in person if allowed) or Zoom meetings with top recovery, fitness, nutrition and sports medicine professionals
Weekly emails with updates, reminders and training information
Email access to your coach Andrea Dell
A Yoga for runners session via Zoom (or in person if allowed)
Cross training workouts designed specifically for runners
A race day gear and strategy session
Special race day perks
We all know running is better with friends, but by operating the Huntersville Half Marathon Weekend training groups in this manner, it opens the opportunity up to all runners, especially those who may not be able to train on a set schedule.
These programs offer access to a certified coach while in the group setting.
We have built these programs to be more customizable to the individual athlete.
These programs offer a wealth of information, education and will be a great opportunity to build fitness and experience.
